I am Marcelo Velásquez, a Bolivian Mechatronic Engineer driven by innovation, technology development, and engineering solutions that address real-world problems. My work focuses on transforming advanced engineering concepts into practical, impactful systems that enhance performance, safety, and quality of life. I have a strong background in mechanical design and extensive experience with CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, contributing to vehicle safety components, structural analysis, and advanced prototyping projects.
My professional experience includes collaboration with companies such as BOTHELO Performance, Creotec, and TELFO Ingeniería, where I developed expertise in 3D printing, electronics integration, embedded systems, and telecommunications. These multidisciplinary environments strengthened my ability to integrate mechanical, electronic, and software solutions into functional engineering systems.
A key innovation of my work is the development of an intelligent bench press assistance system, which integrates mechanical design, pulley-based load assistance, embedded electronics, and computer vision to improve training safety, technique, and performance. This project has been successfully presented in academic and competitive environments and was awarded first place at FETIM 2025, held at the Universidad Católica Boliviana, recognizing its technological innovation and engineering impact.
My achievements also include receiving the “Most Improved Performance” award at NASA’s Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC) 2024, as well as top placements in international competitions such as the Iron Cup Robotics Competition and Bolivian drone racing events. These experiences reflect my commitment to high-performance engineering, creativity, and teamwork under competitive conditions.
Since 2020, I have been a recipient of the Hanns Seidel Foundation Academic Excellence Scholarship, maintaining outstanding academic performance while continuously expanding my technical skill set. I am actively pursuing certifications in SolidWorks, TIG/MIG welding, and cybersecurity to complement my engineering profile. In parallel, I remain deeply involved in STEM outreach and scientific dissemination, including organizing ITEC 2023 and representing Bolivia in international forums.
Motivated by innovation and collaboration, I combine expertise in embedded systems, MATLAB, mechanical design, and sustainable engineering with a forward-looking mindset. My long-term objective is to lead and develop technological projects that contribute meaningfully to scientific advancement, industrial innovation, and social impact.
